Jason Beckett grew up in the town of Fort Macleod, Alberta playing his first years of hockey before being selected to play AAA hockey in nearby city of Lethbridge. He later moved to Seattle to play in the WHL for the Thunderbirds and achieved several team accolades including Scholastic Player of the Year and Best Defensemen while also being selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
As a young prospect, Jason played in the affiliated leagues and farm teams of three NHL organization before going overseas to play professionally. Jason retired from his professional playing career in 2013 with the Nottingham Panthers winning the League, Playoff, and Challenge Cup bringing his 12 year career to an exciting finish.
Jason’s passion for coaching was first ignited while instructing at summer hockey camps for Hockey Ministries International, which he continues to do. First moving to Kelowna to coach at a local academy, Jason continues to coach in local BC Hockey programs and enjoys the process of helping players develop the confidence to achieve their athletic potential.
