Perfect Skating is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and runs programs and clinics across the National Capital Region, the Ottawa Valley and Montreal. A professional player in Europe for more than 10 years and a member of the 1997-98 Canadian National Team, Shawn Allard has been a winning player all of his life. In addition to his extensive playing career, Shawn spent the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 seasons as head coach of the Epinal Dolphins of the French Elite League where he holds every coaching record in the club’s history. Before settling back in Canada, Shawn joined the staff of Lausanne HC, Switzerland and capped off the year winning the 2009 playoff championship.
From NHL and European Pro’s to kids in their first years of competitive hockey, Shawn has a vast experience of coaching at all levels. Throughout his career Shawn has been known as a perfect skater, leader and master communicator. Over the years Shawn has developed these three skills into the Shawn Allard Perfect Skating System, creating a program that not only focuses on power but perfects all aspects of skating.
A man committed to the community, Shawn serves as Chairman on the board of directors for Hockey Stars for Hope, and is active with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Hockey Ministries International. Challenged by insurmountable odds, Shawn is the only professional hockey player in history to compete with a pacemaker.
Shawn has settled in the Ottawa Region with his wife Andrea and children Sutton, Tristan, Owen and Ashley and has now dedicated himself to unleashing the Perfect Skating System to the world.
